Mother Nature is Still in Charge.

We have been reminded of this fact here in the Dallas area late in 2019.  Area homeowners need 2020 vision in the new year.  What we mean is that “Mom” can do her share of damage, but ultimately YOU are the master of repairing that damage.  Sure, sometimes it is daunting, but we are residents of the Metroplex and we’re strong!

Was your plumbing compromised?  Does your siding need repairing?  Does your castle need a fresh coat of paint?  What about the roof?  Then, inside there is water damage, drywall repair, caulking, drywall, flooring, etc.  Taken as an aggregate damage caused by Mother Nature can be daunting, but NOT insurmountable!

Every one of these tasks and many more are handled by the home and business repair experts in the Dallas area.  That’s Home Pro Services.  That is usually the answer when repairs need to be made around this area.  Whenever you need handyman services Home Pro Services is the right choice.  Call them anytime at (214) 886-3326.

Look Straight Down…See It?

That’s your flooring and now IT needs some attention.  You’ve got the walls painted the perfect shade and the lighting is also to your liking.  Now you need the right floor to tie the room together.  If you want a new hardwood floor, tread lightly.  You have a virtual forest of options at a wide range of prices.

Here are some things to consider before deciding on hardwood flooring –

1.  Consider the species of the wood
2.  The grade and cut will determine if knotholes are visible
3.  Is the wood solid or is it engineered?
4.  How much clean up and preparation must be done?

These questions and many more will all be answered to your satisfaction by the flooring professionals at Home Pro Services.  For many years in the Dallas area they have been the go-to company when you need any handywork done around your home or office.  Just call Home Pro Services of Dallas at (214) 886-3326.

Light ‘Em Up!

If a light switch fails to function, it should be replaced.  Most modern switches have screw terminals on each side and may also have holes in the back in order to accept the end of the wire. Even though plug-in connections may be more convenient, they are less reliable than those with screw terminals, so we advise you not to use them.

Here are some of the descriptions of the wires –

1.  The white wire connects to the silver screw.
2.  The black wire (the hot one) goes to the brass screw.
3.  The green or bare wire attaches to the green screw.

You can probably roll up your sleeves and tackle the project yourself, but you could light up like AT&T Stadium!  The logical alternative is to call the home wiring experts at Home Pro Services.  They have solved the Dallas area’s electrical needs for many years.  Call them immediately if a light in your home goes out due to faulty wiring at (214) 886-3326.

How to Hang Drywall.

I know, for most of us saying that is like saying how to do brain surgery!  Drywall consists of panels of pressed gypsum plaster between heavy paper.  Drywall is also known as plasterboard, wallboard and gypsum board.  Here is the goal…when hanging drywall, the ultimate goal is to create the fewest number of seams possible.

There are three basic thicknesses of drywall –

1.  5/8 inch which is the most soundproof
2.  3/9 inch is appropriate for covering existing walls
3.  ¼ inch is used when covering curved walls

Let’s go back a bit to something written above…the ultimate goal is to create the fewest number of seams possible (how about none?)  That is the work of a professional handyman found by calling Home Pro Services.  Do you need drywall hung as close to perfection as possible?  If so, call Home Pro Services serving the Dallas area at (214) 886-3326.
